This Privacy Policy explains how Everwrite (the "App") handles your information. Everwrite is published by GnomeApps ("we", "us", or "our"). The short version: Everwrite is built to be private by design. Your writing stays on your device, there are no accounts, and we do not collect, sell, or share your personal information.

Our approach to privacy

Everwrite is an on-device writing app. We do not operate user accounts, we do not run a server that stores your work, and we do not include analytics, advertising, or tracking technologies of any kind. We have no interest in your manuscripts and we never receive them.

Information we collect

We do not collect personal information about you through the App. Specifically:

• Your writing stays with you. Manuscripts, notes, story details, and any other content you create are stored as files on your device and are not transmitted to us.
• No account, no profile. Everwrite does not require you to sign up, sign in, or provide any personal details to use it.
• No analytics or tracking. The App contains no analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking software, and does not build a profile of you or your usage.

On-device features

Some features process your content directly on your device so that it never has to leave it:

• Continuity analysis and idea-generation features run using on-device intelligence provided by your operating system. Your content is processed locally to power these features and is not sent to us.
• Dictation converts your speech to text on your device. Audio is processed locally for this purpose and is not sent to us.
• Read-aloud and similar enhancements may download supporting resources (such as voice or model files) from our servers or from your operating system provider so the feature can run on your device. These downloads transfer only the resource itself; they do not include your manuscripts, content, or any personal information about you.

Certain on-device capabilities rely on features and models supplied by your operating system. Where your device's system settings or system-level services are involved, those features are governed by the policies of your device and operating system provider rather than by us.

Storing and syncing your files

Your documents are ordinary files that you control. You decide where they live. If you choose to keep them in a folder synced by a third-party service (for example, a cloud drive provided by your operating system or another provider), that service handles the syncing and storage according to its own terms and privacy policy. We are not involved in, and are not responsible for, third-party storage or sync services you choose to use.

Purchases and refunds

Everwrite is distributed through the App Store. Purchases are processed by Apple, and your payment information is handled by Apple under Apple's terms and privacy policy — we never see or receive your payment details. Any refunds are handled exclusively by Apple through its official refund channels. We do not process payments or refunds directly.

Children's privacy

Everwrite is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Third-party services

Everwrite may rely on services provided by Apple (such as the App Store and operating-system features) and on resources delivered to enable certain on-device features. Your use of those services is subject to the applicable third party's own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third parties.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the App after any change indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of data loss.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, GnomeApps shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, content, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the App — even if advised of the possibility of such damages. You are solely responsible for maintaining your own backups of your work. Nothing in this policy limits any rights you may have that cannot be limited under applicable law, and nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
